Rivers Casino Pittsburgh has finished a major refurbishment just in time to celebrate its 15th anniversary. The renovation cost Rush Street Gaming, the property’s owner, approximately $6.6 million, aligning with the company’s goal to solidify the Pennsylvanian casino resort as a premier destination for tourism and gaming.
Focus on event capabilities
The investment primarily targeted enhancing the property’s event-hosting capabilities, with a significant portion allocated to expanding the resort’s ballrooms.
New ballroom and meeting rooms
The renovation included the creation of a new event space, the Bridges Ballroom, which spans 7,044 square feet and offers a scenic view of the Ohio River. The venue provides both indoor and outdoor spaces, including a balcony with a view of the riverfront, Mount Washington, and the iconic Fort Pitt and West End bridges.
The Bridges Ballroom can be divided into three smaller spaces:
- West End Room: 1,844 square feet
- Fort Duquesne Room: 1,164 square feet
- Fort Pitt Room: 4,036 square feet
Additionally, four new private meeting rooms were added:
- Clemente Room: 1,140 square feet
- Warhol Room: 472 square feet
- Carson Room: 470 square feet
- Executive Boardroom: 348 square feet
These new facilities can be rented individually or combined for larger events, offering flexibility for various functions.
Strategic enhancements
The location of the Bridges Ballroom is strategically close to The Event Center and Rivers Ballroom. The Event Center, which opened in 2019, features a 25,000-square-foot grand hall and has become a popular venue for expositions and ticketed shows in Western Pennsylvania.
The Rivers Ballroom originally opened in 2011, also received a refurbishment, including new carpets and finishings, enhancing its 7,873-square-foot banquet space.
Additional improvements
The renovation project, which began in the autumn of 2023, included the addition of a full-service Starbucks Coffee next to the arrival elevators. By the end of 2023, a dedicated lounge for Rush Rewards Players Club members with the highest-tier status was also introduced, further enhancing the guest experience.
With these updates, Rivers Casino Pittsburgh continues to improve its offerings, reinforcing its position as a leading venue for events and entertainment in the region.
