Casino Filipino gaming venues are set to receive approximately 2,000 new slot machines by mid-September, as announced by PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco during his keynote speech at the IAG Academy Summit in the Hilton Manila.

The delivery of these new machines is part of PAGCOR’s modernization program aimed at enhancing the game offerings of Casino Filipino branches nationwide. This initiative is designed to increase foot traffic and boost overall profitability, particularly as PAGCOR prepares for the planned privatization of its casinos.

Tengco emphasized, “As we prepare for the planned privatization of PAGCOR casinos, we intend to increase their value by modernizing our gaming facilities and equipment to make them more attractive to potential investors.”

A total of 3,341 new slot machines have been ordered by PAGCOR, with the first batch of 1,968 units scheduled to arrive in early September.

Recent financial reports from PAGCOR also highlighted a significant rise in gaming revenue for the second quarter, amounting to PHP 89.23 billion (US$1.56 billion). The electronic games (e-Games) segment contributed substantially to this increase, with revenue rising by 525% to P30.85 billion.

In addition to the modernization efforts, PAGCOR has announced plans to begin privatizing government-operated casinos by May 2025, which will include 45 Casino Filipino properties. The agency also plans to open more integrated resorts in key destinations over the next few years.
