The Cordish Gaming Group recently announced a significant development by appointing Bryan Prettyman as senior vice president of property operations at Live! Casino and Hotel Louisiana. This strategic hire bolsters the executive team as the casino resort prepares to open in Q1 2025.

Construction of this premier gaming and entertainment destination in Bossier City began in December of last year. This week, the project celebrated a significant construction milestone.

According to The Shreveport-Bossier City Advocate, Live! Casino and Hotel Louisiana will host a topping-off ceremony next week. This event, which marks the placement of the final beam on the structure, is a major milestone in the construction process, although it does not signify the completion of the project. The topping-off ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, July 17.

The ceremony is expected to attract various Louisiana officials, including representatives from the Louisiana Gaming Control Board. Rob Norton, president of Cordish Gaming Group and Live! Casinos, is also slated to attend.

In an interview with the publication, John Chaszar, general manager and vice president of Live! Casino and Hotel Louisiana, expressed his enthusiasm for the project. “Every day is different, that’s the best thing about this business,” he remarked.

Economic impact and community benefits

The Cordish Companies projected that the casino resort would generate over $200 million in taxes within its first five years. This includes nearly $170 million for the state of Louisiana and around $35 million for Bossier City.

In addition to the substantial economic benefits, Live! Casino and Hotel Louisiana is expected to enhance tourism and support local businesses. The project will also create more than 750 permanent jobs, providing a significant boost to the local economy.

Once completed, Live! Casino and Hotel Louisiana will be the first land-based casino in the Shreveport-Bossier City area. The casino will feature nearly 50,000 square feet of gaming space, including a sportsbook, table games, electronic table games, and slots.

The resort will also include a hotel with over 500 rooms, multiple restaurants and bars, and various other amenities, promising a comprehensive entertainment experience for visitors.
