This follows the recent retirement announcement of Lorenzo Pellicioli, the current chair of IGT’s board. Marco Sala, the current CEO, will be taking over as the executive chair in Pellicioli’s place. Pellicioli became the chairperson of IGT’s board in November 2018, after previously serving as vice-chair and being on Lottomatica’s board of directors.
During his time as chair, Pellicioli oversaw the restructuring of IGT’s business into two segments: Global Lottery and Global Gaming. He also made the decision to sell the Lottomatica B2C business. With Pellicioli stepping down, Sala will assume the role of executive chair. Sala has been with IGT for 19 years and has a successful track record that has earned him the trust and respect of customers, investors, business partners, and regulators.
In June 2022, Sala’s nomination as chairman will be proposed at the IGT board meeting. Vincent Sadusky, a seasoned executive with experience in media and digital industries, will replace Sala as the new CEO. Sadusky has previously held executive positions at Univision Communications, Media General, and LIN Media.
IGT is pleased to welcome Maria Pinelli and Ashley Hunter as non-executive directors. Pinelli will also take over as chair of the audit committee, replacing Sadusky. Hunter has been appointed to the nominating and corporate governance committee. Their diverse professional experiences will enhance IGT’s board composition.
The company has recently made other personnel changes, including the appointment of Gil Rotem as president of igaming and Joe Asher as president of sports betting. In the third quarter of 2021, IGT reported growth across all business segments and product types, with revenue increasing by 20.6% to $984m. As a result, the company raised its full-year revenue guidance to $4.1bn.
