Fanatics expands to offer sportsbook and online casino games in Pennsylvania

Fanatics Sportsbook and Casino is launching in Pennsylvania, supervised by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. There are no restrictions on sign-ups or playtime for customers. The Fanatics Sportsbook and Casino is available to residents and visitors of Pennsylvania. This expansion marks the 11th US state for FBG’s sportsbook and the second for the casino element. PointsBet customers can migrate their accounts to the Fanatics Sportsbook app. FBG headquarters in New York and aims to disrupt the sports betting industry with its FanCash loyalty scheme, personalization, and live streaming features. The casino offers an exciting lineup of slots and new games through a partnership with Light & Wonder. FBG’s Fanatics Games Studio is also creating exclusive content with more games planned for later this year.

In 2023, Pennsylvania’s gambling market reached a historical revenue high of $5.7bn. This was driven by record igaming and sports betting revenue, with igaming revenue increasing by 27.7% to reach $1.7bn. The $5.7bn figure is 9.3% higher than the previous record set in 2022. Physical slots generated the most revenue, amounting to $2.5bn. FBG’s expansion into Pennsylvania takes advantage of the state’s growing igaming market, which has great potential. Pennsylvania’s igaming revenue surpassed the previous record by 27.7% in 2023, and it is projected to exceed $2bn in 2024.

In addition to igaming success, sports betting in Pennsylvania also performed well, reaching a record $458.6m in 2023. The player handle for sports betting amounted to $7.7bn, an increase of 6% from the previous record. FBG’s entry into Pennsylvania puts them in competition with industry giants like FanDuel and DraftKings, who are partnered with Valley Forge Casino Resort and Hollywood Casino at the Meadows respectively. FanDuel leads Pennsylvania’s sports betting market, generating $233.6m in revenue, followed by DraftKings with $121.1m. In the igaming sector, Hollywood Casino at Penn National topped revenue rankings with $61m, followed by Valley Forge Casino Resort with $41.3m and Rivers Casino Philadelphia with $31.3m.
