Macau’s Labour Affairs Bureau is set to host job matchmaking sessions for the gaming sector in September, aiming to fill approximately 1,838 job vacancies. These sessions are designed to address the staffing needs of gaming and integrated resort operators in Macau.
Applications for these positions will be accepted from September 3 to September 26, 2024. The available roles span various departments, including frontline customer-facing positions and backroom support roles, as well as management and specialized technical roles. Notably, about 80% of the vacancies are in food service, rooms, and housekeeping.
The key dates for the matchmaking sessions are as follows:
- September 12: Wynn Macau;
- September 13: Galaxy Macau;
- September 19: Sands China and SJM;
- September 26: MGM China;
- September 29: Melco Macau;
These sessions are part of broader efforts to support the employment needs of Macau’s gaming sector. Additionally, lawmakers in Macau have been advocating for the protection of gaming-sector employees’ welfare, particularly in the post-pandemic era.
Separately, the Philippines’ Department of Labour and Employment (DOLE) is organizing a job fair for former POGO (Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators) employees, who will need new employment as all POGO work permits are set to expire by the end of 2024.
