Russian Daniil Medvedev, seeded second, faces Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic in the third round. In his first two matches the world number two has not given up a set to either Bagnis or Djere but his difficulties on clay are still very present.
Already in the third round he will meet a higher-level opponent who is the Balkan, who has only given up one set to Bublik and beat Etcheverry on the fast track. Kecmanovic, despite doing well on all surfaces, usually shows his best performances on clay.
In other conditions Medvedev would be the undisputed favorite, but precisely at Roland Garros and with a potential five-set match the duel should be much more even. Both tennis players will seek to dominate with their services. Medvedev has more power in his shots, but the variety of Kecmanovic could make the Russian desperate if the match does not get in his face from the start.
