Eduard Paris recommends a forecast for Roland Garros.
Elena Rybakina and Madison Keys, seeded 16th and 22nd respectively, have fulfilled the forecasts in the previous two rounds and will face each other for a place in the knockout stages.
Neither of the two players can be considered a specialist on clay, but the power of both has been enough to break their rivals so far. Based on that premise, it is difficult to consider either of the two favorites, although the odds mark Rybakina, probably due to her greater regularity during this season. Keys, however, has already proven herself capable of achieving great results at Grand Slams (finalist at the 2017 US Open, two-time semifinalist of the Australian Open and once of Roland Garros). The ceiling of the Kazakh in these scenarios is the quarterfinals reached in the last edition of the French tournament.
The power and especially the success will set the tone in this meeting. The Kazakh starts with a slight advantage but her rival has enough alternatives to have serious aspirations of victory. Too much equality for such a difference in odds, so we're going to rely on a Keys win.
