Parimatch Tech recently announced its decision to exit the Russian market in response to the country’s invasion of Ukraine. Betring LLC, the operator of the Parimatch brand in Russia, had the rights to use the trademark under a deal with Parimatch Tech since 2016. However, Parimatch Tech has terminated this agreement and imposed restrictions on the use of the brand in Russia, including a ban on advertising materials, symbols, and local ambassadors using the brand.
This strategic move by Parimatch Tech is a response to the war in Ukraine, making it unacceptable for the brand to continue operating in Russia. The company has withdrawn all support and presence of the Parimatch brand in the country, emphasizing that any further use will be considered a violation of intellectual property.
In addition to exiting the Russian market, Parimatch Tech has committed funds to support Ukraine, including a donation of UAH60m for humanitarian aid. The company has also launched charitable initiatives to provide food, medicine, and assistance to victims of the war. While there were reports of ending the partnership with Chelsea FC due to owner Roman Abramovich’s links to Russia, Parimatch Tech clarified that it would only scale back joint marketing activities with the club to focus on its efforts in Ukraine.
