Pinder Basi is beginning his new role as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) today. He previously served as the executive vice president and CFO at retailer Mastermind Toys.
Basi replaces Lisa Bell-Murray, who is retiring after 30 years with OLG. OLG is a crown agency in Canada that conducts and manages land-based gaming facilities, province-wide lottery games, and internet gaming.
OLG’s president and CEO, Duncan Hannay, describes Basi as an experienced executive with a successful background in finance and business. Basi’s expertise in growth, profitability, and collaboration will be beneficial as OLG works towards post-pandemic recovery, digital growth, and seizing new opportunities to maximize value for customers and the people of Ontario.
Basi’s appointment aligns with OLG’s preparation for significant gaming changes in the province. The regional government plans to introduce new legislation that would end OLG’s current online gambling monopoly.
