Catena Media has recently sold its Italian operations, including SuperScommesse, for €19.8m. The sale was announced on Tuesday and is aimed at consolidating Catena’s position as Italy’s leading sports betting advertising company.
Oddschecker, a company owned by Bruin Capital, has provided more details about its plans for the SuperScommesse brand. However, the exact amount paid for the business has not been disclosed. Oddschecker mentioned that the acquisition will enhance its media partnerships with Gazzetta and DAZN, allowing them to reach millions of users. They also highlighted SuperScommesse’s local expertise, recognized brand, and efficient technology tools that will benefit their other brands in different markets.
The acquisition of SuperScommesse by Oddschecker will further strengthen the newly established Confido Network affiliate partnership. This network covers deals from over 200 global operators. Stuart Simms, CEO of Oddschecker Media Group, expressed excitement about providing enhanced services to SuperScommesse’s customer base and leveraging their strong Italian presence.
Catena Media’s decision to sell SuperScommesse and its Italy-facing operations is a result of a strategic review undertaken 18 months ago. The company aims to streamline its business and focus more on stable markets, primarily in the Americas. The proceeds from the sale will be primarily used to repay debt, reducing Catena’s leverage ratio.
