Esports Entertainment recently finalized its acquisition of Helix and ggCircuit for a total of $43.0m. These acquisitions are a crucial part of the company’s ‘Play, Watch, Bet’ strategy, as they bring state-of-the-art esports entertainment centers, an esports-focused software business, esports analytics platform, and P2P skill-based wagering platform under its umbrella.

The acquisition of ggCircuit adds a B2B software business that specializes in cloud-based management for LAN centers, a tournament platform, and integrated wallet and point-of-sale solutions. With over 1,000 connected locations, ggCircuit’s ggLeap product has been used for over 60 million hours by more than two million unique gamers.

On the other hand, Helix eSports owns five esports centers, including two of the largest sites in the US. These centers offer various experiences such as casual play, competitive tournaments, STEM programming, high school leagues, large groups, and esports bootcamps. Helix also operates Genji Analytics, an esports-focused analytics provider that utilizes advanced technologies like computer vision, natural language processing, and machine learning for broadcast optimization and talent scouting analytics.

Furthermore, Helix’s acquisition includes LANduel, their proprietary player-vs-player wagering platform that enables skill-based wagering on third-party video games.

According to Esports Entertainment CEO Grant Johnson, these strategic acquisitions solidify the company as the most diversified esports entertainment asset in the ecosystem. He also emphasized that the company’s unparalleled scale, combined with the acquisitions and existing assets, positions Esports Entertainment Group to become a global industry leader.
