The acquisition of GGB magazine includes annual publications such as Casino Style, Tribal Government Gaming, and Progressive Products Preview (P3). The deal encompasses GGB’s online assets, reaching more than 26,000 subscribers through GGB News. This strategic move will enhance iGamingBusiness’ and Clarion Gaming Digital’s global reach, particularly targeting the North American market at a critical juncture.
Clarion intends to leverage GGB’s marketing services products to expand its client base and offer a wider audience access to news, analysis, and data. With GGB’s longstanding reputation in the gaming industry since its establishment in 2002, Clarion aims to bolster its presence in North America by tapping into GGB’s extensive US heritage.
The acquisition is part of a comprehensive investment plan to enhance Clarion Gaming Digital’s data and audience development strategies. As a division of Clarion Events, a prominent organizer of digital and in-person events globally, Clarion Gaming hosts major B2B events like InnovateChange L!VE, InnovateChange Affiliate, and ICE, attracting over 60,000 gaming professionals from 150 countries annually.
Alex Pratt, managing director of Clarion Gaming, highlighted the significance of the acquisition, emphasizing the potential to build on GGB’s established foundations in the US. With a focus on the evolving regulatory landscape and gaming developments in the US and Canada, Robin Harrison, Global Content Director, B2B, at Clarion Gaming Digital, underscored the importance of the deal in expanding the company’s industry expertise and reach in a crucial region.
Furthermore, Roger Gros, GGB publisher and CEO of parent company Casino Connection International LLC, expressed confidence in Clarion’s alignment with GGB’s vision for future service to readership. The partnership is poised to maintain the quality of publications and secure GGB’s pivotal role in the gaming industry moving forward.
Clarion Gaming Digital plans to accelerate its expansion in North America by leveraging partnerships within the wider Clarion Events portfolio, such as the upcoming DigitalPlay Summit at the Indian Gaming Tradeshow and Convention in April 2024.
