Allwyn has acquired Camelot Lottery Solutions, with the financial terms of the agreement undisclosed. There will be no changes to the leadership team, and business operations will continue as normal.
Camelot Lottery Solutions, based in Chicago, Illinois, manages the Illinois Lottery under a private management agreement and partners with the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery. It also provides lottery products and services in Europe and North America.
Upon completion of the acquisition, Camelot Lottery Solutions will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Allwyn. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2023, subject to customary closing conditions.
Allwyn’s CEO, Robert Chvátal, stated that the acquisition aligns with their goal of building better lotteries and enhancing player engagement. Wayne Pickup, CEO of Camelot Lottery Solutions, added that the combined resources and expertise of Allwyn and Camelot LS Group will benefit customers and communities.
In addition to this acquisition, Allwyn previously announced its acquisition of Camelot UK Lotteries, the current operator of the UK National Lottery. Allwyn will take over as the operator of the UK National Lottery starting from February 1, 2024.
Allwyn also provided an update on its deal with OPAP regarding the acquisition of a stake in Kaizen Gaming’s international brand, Betano. The transfer of the 36.75% interest in Betano outside Greece and Cyprus has been completed, with OPAP receiving earnout payments based on Betano’s performance. OPAP will retain its stake and control over Stoiximan, the Greek-facing brand of Kaizen Gaming.
