Kambi has entered into a deal with Svenska Spel to power their online and retail sportsbooks using its Complete sports betting product. The front end of Svenska Spel’s new sportsbook will be powered by Kambi subsidiary Shape Games. The agreement is expected to have a significant financial impact from the second half of 2024. Svenska Spel, a state-owned company founded in 1997, operates both online and approximately 5,000 retail outlets. Kambi was selected as Svenska Spel’s sports betting partner after a thorough evaluation process. The partnership aims to strengthen Svenska Spel’s offering and provide enhanced customer experience through the upcoming launch of the new Oddset sportsbook next year.
Kambi co-founder and CEO, Kristian Nylén, expressed pride in being chosen as the long-term sportsbook provider for the prestigious brand of Svenska Spel. This partnership will further solidify Kambi’s position in the Swedish market and contribute to the execution of their long-term strategy.
Kambi’s focus on Sweden is evident with their recent partnership with AB Trav och Galopp (ATG). This extension of their existing relationship will see Kambi providing ATG with its Complete sportsbook, covering online and ATG’s retail network of nearly 1,500 outlets in Sweden.
Kambi’s ability to forge these partnerships was made possible by securing new approvals in the Swedish market, acquiring the necessary B2B gambling permits in June. Compliance with new regulations requiring suppliers to hold a B2B license has positioned Kambi for successful collaborations. The agreement with ATG is the seventh partnership renewal for Kambi this year. They have also extended partnerships with Corredor Empresarial, LeoVegas, Paf, Rank Group, Rush Street Interactive, and Sun International. Furthermore, Kambi will support BetMGM in their venture into the UK market.
