Revenue from igaming in August reached $1.30m (£1.14m/€1.30m), a 37.2% increase from the same month last year. This surpassed the previous record of $1.25m set in July this year. Players spent a total of $36.8m on igaming during the month, a 69.6% year-on-year increase but 6.6% lower than July 2022.
Online video lottery games accounted for $1.0m of total igaming revenue, with consumers spending $21.8m on them. Internet table games generated $221,330 in revenue from $15.0m in bets, while poker rake and fee revenue reached $37,169.
The leading operator in the igaming sector was Delaware Park, earning $558,272 in revenue from $15.8m in bets. Bally’s Dover was second with revenue of $412,044 from $12.1m in bets, followed by Harrington Raceway with $326,657 from $98.9m in wagers.
In sports betting, $354,444 was generated in August, a 439.7% increase from last year but 7.5% lower than July this year. Players wagered $2.9m on sports during the month, a 40.8% decrease from the same month last year and 7.4% more than July.
Delaware Park also claimed the top spot in the sports betting market, earning $162,795 in revenue from a $1.4m handle. Bally’s Dover was second with revenue of $101,243 from $837,814 in player bets, followed by Harrington Raceway with $54,472 in revenue and a $448,645 handle.
