The partnership between Caesars and MLB includes an agreement for Caesars to be an authorized gaming operator in Arizona, allowing for in-person and mobile sports betting. As part of this deal, Caesars will launch its mobile product throughout the state and open a new sportsbook and bar near the Diamondbacks’ Chase Field stadium.
In addition to becoming an authorized gaming operator, Caesars will also be the exclusive sports betting and daily fantasy sponsor for the Diamondbacks, with their branding appearing on the team’s signage and digital assets.
This partnership comes after Caesars’ acquisition of William Hill and its plans to divest its non-US operations while focusing on sports betting and igaming for growth.
The Diamondbacks president, Derrick Hall, expressed their careful consideration to find the ideal partner with experience and a strong reputation in legalized gaming, highlighting Caesars’ professionalism, brand presentation, and customer treatment. He also emphasized their diligence in finding an industry leader in promoting responsible gaming.
Arizona legalized sports betting in April, allowing in-person betting at tribal casinos and sites owned by major league sports teams. Other partnerships, such as DraftKings with the TPC Scottsdale venue and FanDuel with the Phoenix Suns Arena, have already formed following this legalization.
