Consumers in the state can access BetMGM’s online sports betting platform to place wagers on various sports leagues and events. The platform offers pre-game, live in-play, futures, and parlay betting options.
The app is integrated with BetMGM Rewards, a loyalty program that allows players to earn points with every wager placed. These points can be exchanged for accommodation and experiences at MGM Resorts properties across the US, including the Bellagio and MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the Borgata in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
“This launch is a significant milestone for BetMGM as we enter one of the country’s largest sports betting markets. We are excited to work with the state of Illinois to provide its passionate sports fans with a new, innovative, and unique sports betting experience,” said BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt.
BetMGM is licensed to operate in several states, including Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Wyoming, and Washington DC.
Last month, sports betting operators in Illinois became the third state to exceed $7 billion in wagers for a calendar year.
