The trio of Kindred, Svenska Spel, and ATG have committed to promoting responsible gambling starting in the fall of 2022. They regularly submit data to the Swedish regulator, Spelinspektionen, every six months. The latest dataset covers the period from July to December 2023 and is the third update to be published, following the second half of 2022 and the first half of the previous year.
The data includes information on the percentage of players contacted due to risky gambling, the impact of contacting players, the number of players who reduced their problem gambling habits, and the percentage of players who completely stopped gambling.
During the second half of the year, Kindred reached out to 0.5% of its customers in Sweden regarding their gambling behavior. Out of those players, 78.2% reduced their gambling, showing an improvement compared to 75.1% in the first half of the year. Additionally, 78.6% of the contacted players decreased their average deposits over the six-month period.
