The two organisations collaborated on an anti-match-fixing investigation, resulting in FC Floresti being demoted from the top division of Moldovan football, the Moldovan National Division.
“We are delighted to continue working with Starlizard Integrity Services, a valuable partner and important ally in the fight against match-fixing,” said Evgheni Zubic, FMF’s integrity officer. “Their deep understanding of betting markets and expertise in identifying suspicious betting patterns and team or player behavior have been beneficial. The renewal of the agreement with SIS will strengthen our efforts to keep Moldovan football clean.”
Under the new agreement, SIS will provide an alert service to the FMF. This service will notify the governing body of suspicious betting patterns or questionable performances by teams or players in Moldovan football. SIS will also assist with investigations of specific allegations of match manipulation in Moldova.
“The FMF is committed to safeguarding the integrity of Moldovan football. We are privileged to support them again in this endeavor,” added Affy Sheikh, head of Starlizard Integrity Services. “This collaboration exemplifies our successful working relationships with sports governing bodies worldwide, where we provide monitoring, analysis, and alert services free of charge as part of our commitment to rid football and sport in general of match manipulation.”
