Playson, a game developer, has a development studio in Kyiv, Ukraine. Many of their employees in Ukraine have volunteered for various roles to support the country in its social responsibilities. Some have joined the fight against disinformation, while others help with resettling and providing food and logistics for Ukrainian refugees. Some employees have even volunteered for the Ukrainian armed forces. Playson acknowledges that there may be disruptions in their everyday processes, and some future releases may be delayed due to these circumstances.
Playson strongly condemns the Russian military invasion into Ukraine and expresses solidarity with the country. They assure their commitment to supporting their Ukrainian employees and their families during these challenging times, including assistance in relocating to more secure regions. Playson still plans to participate in ICE London 2022 and showcase their slot games as scheduled.
In response to the invasion, several operators, developers, and businesses in the gambling industry have withdrawn their services from Russia and Belarus. Genius Sports Group and LeoVegas suspended operations in Russia and Belarus. Parimatch Tech, originally founded in Ukraine, also announced the withdrawal of its franchise from Russia. The gaming industry has come together through the Gaming Industry for Ukraine initiative, aiming to raise £250,000 to support those affected by the war. Betsson Group has made the largest donation so far with £25,000.
