The Entain Foundation, the group’s non-profit organization, will provide £500,000 in funding to SportsAid by the 2024 Games in Paris. This makes Entain one of SportsAid’s largest corporate partners.
The funds collected by SportsAid are used to support the development of British athletes and para-athletes.
Entain supports over 50 aspiring athletes each year across England, Northern Ireland, Wales, and Scotland. These athletes receive annual financial support for training, competition, travel, and equipment costs.
So far, the Entain-SportsAid partnership has distributed over 150 athlete awards, including sponsorship and event fundraising. Tokyo 2020 BMX Supercross silver medallist Bethany Shriever is one of the athletes who have benefited from this support.
In addition to financial assistance, Entain works with SportsAid to provide athletes with recognition and personal development opportunities. This includes workshops on topics such as nutrition, mental wellbeing, and dealing with the media.
Entain’s extended commitment to SportsAid will continue until the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2024. This partnership is crucial for supporting talented young athletes, especially after a challenging period in the last 18 months.
The SportsAid partnership is part of the Entain Foundation’s multi-million-pound grassroots sports investment program, which also includes the Pitching In football scheme.
