Under the new partnership, US Integrity will provide monitoring software and tools to the Big 12 conference. This software, known as ProhiBet, will help prevent individuals from participating in prohibited sports wagering, ensuring compliance with betting regulations for student-athletes, coaches, staff, and officials.
The Big 12 conference is committed to strengthening its oversight over sports betting and is intensifying control over the distribution of Big 12 data. This partnership with US Integrity is a crucial step in ensuring the integrity of sports betting activities within the conference.
Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasizing the importance of sport integrity in the current landscape of sports betting. ProhiBet, a joint venture between US Integrity and Odds On Compliance, provides a state-of-the-art encrypted data transfer system, enhancing transparency and trustworthiness in collegiate sports betting.
The partnership comes at a time of controversy involving Iowa State, a Big 12 university. Twenty-six athletes from the University of Iowa, a member of the Big 12 conference, were suspected of betting on sports, violating NCAA rules. Iowa State football players are also facing charges for tampering with records.
