The UK-based registered charity is expanding its services to other language markets, including the Netherlands. This expansion allows players around the world to benefit from the charity’s free self-exclusion software. Additionally, the charity now offers Dutch language technical support to ensure that users within specific jurisdictions can fully engage with the service.
BetBlocker, the self-exclusion software provided by the charity, allows users to restrict their access to remote gambling services. Users can choose to block access entirely or schedule when the restriction switches on or off, providing protection during vulnerable periods.
The launch of BetBlocker in the Netherlands was done in collaboration with gaming group L&L Group. This collaboration demonstrates the group’s commitment to responsible gambling and fulfilling their duty of care towards players.
In anticipation of the country’s igaming market opening on 1 October, Dutch regulator Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) has released guidance on advertising and recruitment in gambling. Licence holders are obligated to avoid advertising towards minors and their advertisements will be assessed based on content, location, media presence, and target audience.
