Arnold began his new role earlier this month as the CEO of The Football Pools, a prominent British brand in the betting industry. He brings valuable experience from his previous positions as the chief operating officer and then the chief commercial officer at the LiveScore Group, which operates the Virgin Bet and LiveScore Bet sports betting brands. Prior to that, Arnold held various marketing and executive roles at Betway, Boylesports, and SportingBet.
Arnold is excited to take charge of The Football Pools during its centenary year and to contribute to its growth and development. He acknowledges the previous efforts to reposition the company and looks forward to working with the executive team to bring their plans to fruition over the coming months.
The Football Pools has a long history, being established in 1923, and offers various pools products in the British market. It underwent mergers in the past, including the acquisition of Littlewoods Pools by Sportech in 2000, followed by deals for the Zetters and Vernons pool betting businesses. In 2008, the company rebranded as The Football Pools and introduced an online offering. In 2018, they expanded to include a full online sportsbook product. The business was later sold to OpCapita, a private equity owner, for £83m in 2017.
