The negotiated agreement, which runs until the end of September 2023, includes wage increases and one-time payments following discussions with FNV and De Unie, the largest trades union confederation in the Netherlands.
Key highlights of the agreement:
- All employees will receive a 2.5% wage increase starting this month.
- An additional €60 per month will be added to wages on a structural basis.
- The new minimum wage will be €14 per hour.
- From January 2023, wages will further increase by 0.75%.
- All Holland Casino employees in July this year will receive a one-time gross amount of €350, based on full-time employment in that month.
Marleen Berk, the human resources director at Holland Casino, expressed satisfaction with the outcome, considering the financial position of the company, inflation, and the labor market.
Despite a decrease in revenues of 8.7% in 2021, Holland Casino is implementing these raises across the board. The casino faced significant challenges due to COVID-19, including prolonged closures and restrictive measures. In 2021, the company’s revenue dropped to €304.2m. Although online gaming was launched, it was insufficient to offset the impact of the pandemic, with casinos closing for 168 days due to lockdown restrictions.
