Hill will become the COO of the executive committee next year. Flutter expects this new role to maximize the benefits of its global scale and support the strategic direction of the business.
Hill will continue serving as CFO until Edgecliffe-Johnson joins the company in the first half of 2023. This will ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities. Edgecliffe-Johnson is currently the CFO and group head of strategy for InterContinental Hotels Group since 2014. He previously held senior vice-president roles at the hotel business. Before joining InterContinental in 2004, he was an associate director for corporate finance at HSBC.
Flutter’s CEO, Peter Jackson, expressed his delight in welcoming Paul as the group CFO next year. He believes that Paul’s relevant skills and experience will be instrumental in seizing the significant opportunities ahead and executing the company’s strategy. Jackson also expressed gratitude to Jonathan for his contributions to Flutter and is pleased that Jonathan will continue supporting the business in his new role as COO.
Flutter’s chair, Gary McGann, welcomes the appointment of Paul as an excellent executive and looks forward to working with him and the team in the future. McGann also expressed his enthusiasm for continuing to collaborate with Jonathan in his new role.
