Nesset was previously the senior vice president of global sports at GAN and Coolbet. He joined Coolbet in 2020 after serving as the director of sports at Gaming Innovation Group (GiG).
Karlsen, one of Coolbet’s first employees, was the chief operating officer from its founding in 2015 until his resignation. Following GAN’s acquisition of Coolbet, Karlsen played a key role in the launch of GAN Sports in the US.
Endre Nesset expressed excitement and honor in taking on the new challenge of growing Coolbet with the team, platform, and prospects for long-term growth.
Dermot Smurfit, GAN’s CEO, thanked Anders for his leadership and hard work and acknowledged the strong performance of Coolbet since the acquisition. Smurfit also congratulated Endre on his well-deserved new role as a result of building a strong Sportsbook organization.
Earlier this month, GAN reduced its full-year revenue and earnings forecasts after reporting lower-than-expected results for the second quarter of its 2022 financial year. Smurfit mentioned that the business had already cut employee numbers due to current market dynamics. The group’s revenue for the quarter reached $35.0m, with B2B revenue increasing by 36.5% and B2C gaming revenue decreasing by 13.3%.
