This appointment follows Coljuegos’ announcement that the government has collected over COP2.8tn in gaming taxes since 2015. In 2019 alone, the industry generated COP668bn, marking a significant increase of 76% from the COP380bn collected in 2015. Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the country has managed to collect COP254bn as of September 2020.
