Villalba has been appointed as the new CFO of Codere, replacing Óscar Fernández de Llano. He will be responsible for leading the company’s financial strategy and supporting its investor relations.
Prior to joining Codere, Villalba served as the CFO and a member of the executive committee at Deoleo Group. During his time there, he managed various departments including accounting, administration, treasury, and investor relations.
Before his role at Deoleo Group, Villalba spent over 17 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he gained extensive experience in audit, transaction services, and business recovery services.
This appointment is significant for Codere as it aims to consolidate its project and strengthen its position in the market. Villalba’s expertise and financial experience make him a valuable asset to the company.
In addition to Villalba’s appointment, Codere also recently named Gonzaga Higuero as the new CEO and added Michal Elimelech to its board of directors. These changes in senior management reflect Codere’s commitment to growth and leadership in the private gaming sector.
Codere’s performance in the first quarter has been promising, with year-on-year growth across all operating markets and significant increases in revenue. The company’s adjusted EBITDA loss and net loss have also improved compared to the previous year.
