In her new role, Anna Barsby will be responsible for overseeing the technology integration of 888 and William Hill following their merger earlier this year. In July 2022, 888 acquired William Hill’s non-US assets from Caesars for £1.95bn (€2.27bn/$2.39bn). This acquisition came shortly after Caesars acquired the entire William Hill business for approximately £2.90bn, with the intention of keeping only its US assets.
Barsby has a strong background in digital transformation and integration projects. She has previously held positions as the chief technology director at Morrisons, the chief information officer at Halfords, and has worked at TUI Travel, Aviva, and Sainsbury’s. More recently, she founded and currently serves as the managing partner of management consultancy Tessiant. Additionally, Barsby is currently a non-executive director at Cumberland Building Society.
888’s CEO, Itai Pazner, expressed his excitement about the addition of Barsby to their executive leadership team. He highlighted her significant experience and expertise, emphasizing her crucial role in driving the technology integration between 888 and William Hill. Pazner stated, “We very much look forward to working with her as we unlock the significant potential of our two highly complementary businesses.”
