Under the new deal, SBOTOP will become the official sponsor for Fulham Football Club’s men’s first team shirts for the 2023-24 season. The operator’s logo will also be prominently displayed on the players’ training kit sleeves. Additionally, SBOTOP will receive branding visibility on various surfaces within Fulham’s home stadium, Craven Cottage. This partnership marks a record-breaking deal for the club.
SBOTOP has a history of sponsoring Premier League teams and most recently sponsored Leeds United, which was unfortunately relegated last season. SBOTOP’s CEO, Bill Mummery, expressed excitement about bringing these two premier brands together and aims to increase global awareness for both companies in the upcoming seasons.
Jon Don-Carolis, the commercial director of Fulham, expressed his satisfaction in welcoming SBOTOP as a partner, emphasizing that the front-of-shirt sponsorship plays a crucial role in generating significant revenue and maintaining competitiveness in the Premier League.
In April, Premier League clubs agreed to ban gambling sponsorships on matchday shirts starting from the end of the 2025-26 season. Although this ban will eventually come into effect, existing sponsorship deals with gambling operators can continue until then and new partnerships can be formed as long as they are established before the ban takes place.
Just today, newly promoted Burnley announced a one-year shirt sponsorship deal with W88, another Asian-facing operator. W88 has previously partnered with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, and Fulham in the previous season.
Aston Villa recently agreed to a shirt sponsorship deal with another Asia-facing operator, BK8, which will extend until the end of the 2025-26 season. However, Newcastle United downgraded its previous deal with offshore operator Fun88, which had been the club’s principal partner since the 2017-18 season.
