Peter Bengtsson has been appointed as the CEO of William Hill since September 2019. Previously, he held the position of chief digital officer at the bookmaker starting from April 2018. Bengtsson also has an extensive background in the gaming industry, serving as president, chairman, and chief executive of Betsson Group. He has also been the CEO of the emerging markets pay-TV business at Modern Times Group.
The nomination committee of Raketech, a marketing affiliate, has proposed appointing Bengtsson as chairman. This appointment, subject to approval, would become effective from the affiliate’s annual general meeting on May 17. Tobias Persson Rosenqvist, the chairman of Raketech’s nomination committee, praised Bengtsson’s deep knowledge, connections, and experience in the global scene of iGaming. Rosenqvist believes that Bengtsson’s expertise, combined with his experience in large-scale international transactions, will greatly contribute to the affiliate’s growth.
The outgoing chairman of Raketech, Mr Lundberg, was also acknowledged for his contributions. Rosenqvist expressed his gratitude to Lundberg for creating a well-balanced mix of entrepreneurial creativity and effective governance and structure. Lundberg, reflecting on his time as chairman, mentioned his mission to establish structure and processes that would enable Raketech to thrive as a listed company on Stockholm Nasdaq First North. He expressed pride and satisfaction in the company’s stable listing, strong management, and clear strategy. Lundberg believes that his mission has been accomplished and it is time for someone else to take Raketech to the next level.
Raketech’s nomination committee has also proposed the re-election of Fredrik Svederman, Annika Billberg, Johan Svensson, and Erik Skarp, as well as the appointment of Magnus GottÃ¥s. The committee’s complete proposal will be presented at the upcoming annual general meeting. In its 2020 financial year, Raketech reported a 23.0% increase in revenue compared to the previous year, driven by the impact of its acquisitions made during that period.
