In this resolution, lottery operators, brokers, and third-party marketing bodies must comply with new regulations for marketing and advertising of Spain’s national lotteries.
The regulations introduce changes to online presence, including age verification through national databases, informing prohibited individuals from participating, and introducing an official seal on websites for authenticity.
Brokers are also required to follow marketing regulation instructions and be transparent with sales channels activity.
Moreover, the resolution extends the provisions of Law 13/2011 of 27 May and Royal Decree 958/2020 of 3 November to lotteries and brokers.
Law 13/2011, known as the “Spanish Gambling Act,” requires operators to obtain licenses, while Royal Decree 958/2020 sets rules on marketing including restrictions on TV and radio advertising times and prohibition of promotional bonuses.
The purpose of this resolution is to protect consumers, extend gambling advertising restrictions to lotteries, and ensure compliance.
