In October, lottery sales in China reached CNY41.21bn, which was higher compared to the same month last year but down 10.3% from September.
Sports lottery sales saw a significant increase of 70.1% year-on-year, generating CNY31.85bn in revenue. Welfare lottery sales also rose by 40.9% to CNY15.49bn.
Betting games were the most popular among players, contributing to sales of CNY18.98bn, a 67.4% increase. Digital lottery sales also saw growth of 15.0% to CNY13.70bn, while instant lottery sales experienced the highest growth at 167.6%, reaching CNY11.44bn.
Keno games sales reached CNY3.22bn with a growth of 47.1%. Video lottery sales saw a modest increase of 8.0% to CNY90,000.
All provinces in China reported growth in lottery sales. The total sales for the year up to October reached CNY475.88bn, with significant increases in sports lottery sales (68.2% to CNY315.85bn) and welfare lottery sales (29.9% to CNY160.03bn).
Betting remained the top game type with CNY203.92bn in sales, accounting for 42.8% of all sales in China. Digital lottery sales increased by 12.2% to CNY143.45bn, and instant lottery sales jumped by 87.8% to CNY98.23bn. Keno sales contributed CNY30.38bn, up 12.2%, while video lottery sales amounted to CNY1.3m.
Like October, all provinces in China experienced year-on-year growth in lottery sales.
