Intralot has announced an amendment to its contract with the Moroccan Sports Lottery (MDJS) to enhance resilience in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic and its impact on the lottery market.
The existing contract between Intralot and MDJS, which was signed in June 2019, will continue for 8 years. Intralot Maroc, Intralot’s subsidiary, will provide ongoing support to MDJS, managing and operating its lottery, sports betting, and other gaming activities.
Over the past year, Intralot has extended contracts with various lottery operators globally. This includes extending its partnership with the Dutch lottery operator, Nederlandse Loterij, to offer a sports betting platform. Intralot Australia will also continue providing its products and services for the operation of the state lottery of Western Australia through an extension of its partnership with Lotterywest until January 2026.
In February, Intralot sold its stake in Intralot de Peru SA to private equity firm Nexus Group in Peru for $21 million. The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic is expected to reduce Intralot’s earnings by €25-€28 million.
Intralot has further expanded its presence in the US through a partnership with game developer Incentive Games. Together, they have launched a series of free-to-play games in collaboration with the Montana and Washington, DC lotteries.
