The Online Gaming Industry Association (BOS) agrees with the Gambling Inspectorate’s plan to increase fees and generate more revenue. BOS supports the idea that the fees should cover the costs of licensing and supervision. BOS believes that the Gambling Inspectorate is currently underfunded and should be sufficiently funded to fulfill its commitments.
BOS would like to see the Gambling Inspectorate provide a one-stop shop for license holders to address compliance questions and other concerns. Gustaf Hoffstedt, BOS’ secretary-general, emphasizes the importance of adequate funding for the Gambling Inspectorate.
Proposed fee increases include a raise for a public lottery license and Svenska Spel’s casino and lottery license. The fees for land-based casino gaming licenses would differ depending on the applicant. Spelinspektionen also suggests removing renewal fees and excessive fees for license amendments. The license fees for commercial online gambling and betting may be reduced.
