Under the expanded multi-year partnership with the KNVB, Sportradar will process publicly available information from a range of channels, including the dark web, and will monitor a variety of platforms to identify any integrity threats in relation to possible match-fixing for men’s and women’s football. This partnership extends Sportradar’s existing relationship with the KNVB and their integrity agreements with FIFA, UEFA, and the AFC, the global, European, and Asian governing bodies for football, respectively.
Andreas Krannich, managing director of integrity services at Sportradar, emphasized the importance of robust due diligence measures and a proactive approach in tackling potential integrity issues in sports. The KNVB has demonstrated a commendable commitment to protecting the integrity of Dutch football through their collaboration with Sportradar’s intelligence and investigation services team.
In addition, Sportradar has signed a memorandum of understanding with Brazil’s Federal Police to share information regarding fraud, match-fixing, and corruption in sports and betting in the country. This strategic agreement further expands Sportradar’s cooperation with law enforcement agencies, as they already have partnerships in place with Europol, Spain’s Guardia Civil, and the Bulgarian, Austrian, and French Federal Police, among others.
Krannich stated that the collaborative efforts with various state authorities, government institutions, national platforms, and sports federations have been effective in the fight against match-fixing. Sportradar’s work has contributed to 489 sporting sanctions and 50 criminal sanctions, making Brazilian sport safer through their cooperation with the Federal Police of Brazil.
