The breach in question relates to Baltic Bet’s remote promotion on its Optibet Blackjack product, which offered players the opportunity to increase their winnings. However, this promotion goes against the gambling promotions ban that was implemented in the country this year. This ban prohibits any form of gambling promotion, including dissemination of information or persuasion.
Although the Gambling Supervisory Authority concluded that the offence committed by UAB Baltic Bet was not significant, it did not impose any sanctions on the operator. The authority stated that the violations were minor and did not result in any material damage to the protected interests. However, UAB Baltic Bet has been informed that repeat violations within a year will lead to appropriate sanctions being imposed.
Furthermore, Baltic Bet was recently fined by the regulator for organizing gambling outside of gambling regulations.
