Aristocrat is the latest company to support the responsible gambling organization, BetBlocker. BetBlocker operates as a registered UK charity that has a free-to-use app that blocks online gambling websites.
The desktop version will block over 84,500 sites, while the mobile app has 1,500 sites and gambling apps blocked. At the time of writing, BetBlocker is active on almost 15,000 devices and comes programmed with parental controls to limit additional adult content. Aristocrat isn’t the only company that has seen potential in the organization either, as Stake also entered into a similar deal with the charity.
Duncan Garvie, Founder and Trustee for BetBlocker, said: “The BetBlocker project has gained significant momentum over the course of 2024, with recognition from some of the most prestigious and knowledgeable organizations in the sector, and the support of industry event organizers to help raise awareness of the service we provide. “But the simple truth is that none of what we do would be possible without the donations we receive from socially conscious businesses across the sector. “The BetBlocker team and I are very grateful to Aristocrat for the support they’ve offered.”
Aristocrat will support BetBlocker through donations to ensure that the app can continue to support people who are struggling with gambling-related harm. Garvie continued: “That support ensures that we can continue to support the tens of thousands of people who use BetBlocker every day to help them manage their access to gambling responsibly and minimize gambling harms.” BetBlocker is available on Windows, Linux, Mac, Android, iOS, Fire OS, and AppGallery.
