In Q4, the gross gaming revenue in Spain saw a 0.6% increase compared to the same period in 2022. The total revenue generated was also up by 3.6% from the previous quarter.
The primary source of revenue in Q4 was the casino segment, accounting for 54.3% of the market revenue with a total of €171.3m. The growth in the casino market was driven by a 25.9% increase in slots revenue and a 15.3% rise in live roulette revenue.
Sports betting brought in €114.7m, representing 36.4% of total revenue, while poker accounted for €25.4m or 8.1% of overall revenue. Tournaments in the poker segment saw a negative variation rate of 0.5% while poker cash had a 7.0% increase.
Additionally, €3.8m in revenue came from bingo activities, making up 1.2% of total revenue, and contests contributed €50,000.
Player spending in Q4 saw total deposits of €1.04bn, a 9.4% increase from the same period in 2022. The average monthly active game accounts rose by 6.8% to 1,269,585, while new game accounts decreased by 2.3% to 129,207.
Operator marketing spend in Q4 reached €113.0m, with €53.0m allocated to promotions, €45.2m to advertising, €14.0m to affiliation, and €750,000 to sponsorship. By the end of Q4, there were 78 licensed operators in Spain, with offerings including casino games, sports betting, poker, bingo, and contests.
