ATG managed to overcome industry challenges and achieve growth in 2023 despite increased prices, interest rates, and a recession affecting customers’ wallets. Total group revenue slightly decreased to SEK6.04bn, but net gaming revenue rose by 0.9% to SEK5.27bn. CEO Hasse Lord Skarplöth attributed the success to ATG’s growing customer base of approximately 1.3 million players.
Revenue from horse racing declined by 3.0% to SEK3.91bn, while sports betting revenue increased by 11.0% and casino revenue grew by 20.0%. Despite a decrease in agency and other revenue, ATG saw a pre-tax profit of SEK1.83bn, up 7.3% year-on-year.
In Q4, total revenue increased by 2.8% to SEK1.60bn, with net gaming revenue up by 3.7% to SEK1.39bn. ATG remains concerned about proposed tax increases in Sweden, with Skarplöth advocating for a different approach to avoid negative impacts on the horse industry.
