Under the deal, Esports Entertainment will be the official esports tournament platform provider for the Cleveland Cavaliers. They will operate three co-branded esports tournaments each year using their Esports Gaming League (EGL) platform. The Cavaliers will promote these tournaments through their digital marketing efforts on social media, email, mobile, and online channels.
Additionally, as part of the partnership, Esports Entertainment will have courtside LED signage at all Cavaliers regular season home games in the 2021-22 season. They will also be the presenting partner for an esports themed night each season.
This partnership extends to the Cavs Legion GC NBA 2K League esports affiliate as well. Esports Entertainment’s brand will be featured on the players’ physical jerseys and virtually in the game.
“We are delighted to announce the Cavs as our first NBA team partnership. Our tournament platform will help the Cavs connect with their fans and provide new engagement opportunities,” said Esports Entertainment CEO Grant Johnson.
