The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has recently issued a warning to consumers about several online gaming websites that falsely claim to be affiliated with the MGA. This announcement is part of the Authority’s efforts to protect consumers and maintain the integrity of Malta’s gaming industry.
The MGA has specifically identified the following five unauthorised URLs:
- www.rayvietnam.net;
- www.rbvn08.com;
- www.raybet03.com;
- www.ray097.com;
- www.ray40.com;
According to the MGA, any references to the Authority or claims of gaming licences issued by Malta on these websites are false and misleading. This declaration serves as a reminder to consumers about the importance of verifying the legitimacy of online gaming platforms before engaging with their services.
The MGA emphasizes that authorised entities are required to comply with strict legal requirements designed to protect consumers’ interests. Unlicensed entities, by contrast, operate outside of this regulatory framework, potentially exposing users to significant risks.
To ensure safety and compliance, the MGA advises consumers to only utilise services provided by entities that have been verified and authorised by the Authority. A full list of legitimate MGA-licensed entities can be found on the MGA website.
In addition to this warning, the MGA has also introduced a new Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) hub for its licensees. This hub, launched on the MGA website, aims to provide detailed information on ESG reporting for licensees, further enhancing the regulatory framework and consumer protection measures.
Consumers are urged to be vigilant and always verify the legitimacy of online gaming platforms to avoid potential risks associated with unlicensed operators.
