Gaming and non-gaming activities in Victorian lockdown restrictions are set to resume, allowing Crown Melbourne to reopen after its closure in August. Crown Melbourne CEO Steve McCann expresses excitement for the return of employees and the opportunity to provide exceptional experiences for customers in the post-COVID-19 era.
Crown Resorts, however, faced an unfavorable ruling from Victoria’s Royal Commission, which deemed the company “unsuitable” to operate a casino. Despite this ruling, no plans have been made to revoke Crown’s license. Similarly, the company was also found unsuitable to hold a license in New South Wales by the Bergin Inquiry. As a result, Crown Resorts was ordered to pay AU$22.5m by the New South Wales Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority.
