The Expert Group on Cybersecurity, established by the EGBA, aims to facilitate the exchange of information among members to prevent cyber threats and enhance collaboration in resolving incidents.
The group comprises cybersecurity experts who are members of the EGBA, with provision for non-members to join if they adhere to specified cyber security and data protection standards.
Data sharing within the group is governed by a Memorandum of Understanding agreed upon by members.
“We have created this expert group to promote and facilitate cross-industry cooperation in addressing cybersecurity challenges,” said Maarten Haijer, secretary-general of EGBA.
The group’s focus is on preventing cybercriminals from targeting gambling websites to steal customer data and money, thereby bolstering the protection of operators’ customer bases from theft and data breaches.
“Given the cross-border and industry-wide nature of cyber threats, it is essential for operators to collaborate closely to enhance cyber security measures, address emerging threats, and uphold the highest standards of security,” Haijer added.
