Under the new deal, IGT will continue to supply the core lottery system for the National Lottery. Allwyn, the fourth National Lottery licensee, will take over the lottery operations starting from 1 February 2022, replacing Camelot, the current operator since 1994. IGT’s contract extension is a part of Allwyn’s transformation program for the lottery, and they are pleased to continue supporting the National Lottery alongside other suppliers.
IGT has dropped its legal challenge against the award of the fourth National Lottery license to Allwyn, withdrawing the claim for damages against the Gambling Commission. In September 2022, Camelot also dropped its legal bid, which led to Allwyn waiving any claims for costs or damages against Camelot. Despite previous friction, the acquisition of Camelot UK and Camelot Lottery Solutions by Allwyn in early 2023 has reconciled the relationship between the two parties.
Allwyn’s H1 and Q3 results have shown a significant impact from the acquisitions of Camelot UK and Camelot LS (now rebranded as Allwyn North America). During Q3, consolidated total revenue increased by 98%, driven by the double acquisition of Camelot businesses.
