The multi-year agreement will see FSB power SZRT Slovakia’s BetRing.sk sportsbook, expanding the Hungarian state lottery Szerencsejáték Zrt (SZRT) into new markets. FSB aims to showcase its leading product to other state lotteries seeking expansion opportunities. FSB has recently appointed Chris Graham as the new lead for B2B global marketing. “We’re delighted to partner with SZRT Slovakia as their trusted technology partner,” stated FSB chief executive David McDowell. “Winning this competitive tender process is a testament to our agile tech and growing industry profile. Together with the Slovakian and FSB teams, SZRT Slovakia has curated an outstanding sports betting experience for the Slovakian market through its BetRing brand.”
Hungary has recently introduced igaming legislation to end state-run monopolies, while the Slovakian market opened up to private operators in 2018 after approval from the Slovak National Council. The gambling act in Slovakia permits fixed odds betting licences, sets limits for gaming machines per venue, and requires gambling venues to be a certain distance away from schools and medical facilities. Miroslav Baranec, CEO at SZRT Slovakia, described FSB as the standout contender during the tender process. “FSB has delivered a leading sportsbook experience with localised features and content such as floorball, esports, and the ongoing Winter Olympics. We believe this comprehensive offering will attract and engage customers in this competitive marketplace.”
