Domain registry operator Afilias has introduced ‘dot BET’, a new internet address specifically for the betting, gambling, and gaming sectors. Eligible trademark holders have until February 4 to apply for this new domain. From February 8 to February 12, dot BET domains will be available through a Dutch Auction format, where the price will gradually decrease daily. Open registration for the .BET domain will begin on March 3. Afilias chief marketing officer Roland LaPlante stated that .BET is the perfect internet address for sports betting and online gambling, suitable for all games of chance and wagering activities, from sports betting to casino-style gaming.
